Path Out Of Pain Program

Our program consists of helping you through 5 steps. Here are some details:

Step 1

Know the Root Cause

We will take a close look to understand if your pain is brain-induced. Maybe you have pain when you bend to tie your shoe laces but no pain during an hour-long yoga session. Or your pain is worse in the morning than in the afternoon. Uncovering these inconsistencies will build your confidence in your capacity to recover.

Step 2

Break the Pain-Fear Cycle

In this step, you will learn practical techniques that shift your relationship with pain. We will introduce the knowledge that your pain is a false alarm. You will shift your perspective and use mindfulness to retrain your brain to view your symptoms as safe. Now, you are in the perfect position to re-engage in your life.

Step 3

Get Active and Relax

We will gently reintroduce physical exercise and you will be guided to doing more of the things that you love. Alongside this, we will explore relaxation techniques such as meditation, calming music, and laughter to soothe your nervous system. This step will reduce your tension levels: your shift towards long-term recovery is now in place.

Step 4

Explore Your Emotions

We will take a look at past and present situations that cause you stress and explore what is happening in a safe, non-judgemental way. Through talking and personalized techniques such as expressive writing you’ll discover the link between your emotions and chronic pain. Exploring your emotions helps your brain learn that all of your emotions are safe and it doesn’t need to create pain to keep them hidden.

Step 5

Build Acceptance and Self-Compassion

In this step, we will introduce self-compassion and acceptance. Maybe you find yourself in pain and thinking, “I’m not doing this right. It’s my fault this pain is here. I am a failure.” Now, because of our work together you will know that your pain is not your fault and that you can get better. You will have developed kindness for yourself alongside the deep knowing that you can be free from chronic pain.
